[ BZbub joined the game ] [dhoward]: Hi. [bzbub]: hi [dhoward]: You interested in playing a little D&D today? [bzbub]: i talked to you over email thia last week [bzbub]: ya [bzbub]: [bzbub]: im really new to the online thing [dhoward]: Right. Did you have a character already made or did you need one of mine? [bzbub]: i dont think im quitw prepared to play now [bzbub]: still need to meake one [dhoward]: Ok. You want to watch? [bzbub]: not sure where the sheet is that im supposed to use [bzbub]: yes [dhoward]: I haven't loaded any sheets yet. But I'll show you an example now. [bzbub]: just tell me what i need to do [bzbub]: ok [dhoward]: So, I just loaded a sheet into the Workbench Folder. [bzbub]: where did you get the sheet ? [dhoward]: You can get a sheetfrom Reference|WebRPG Toolbox|Character Sheets. Also, they have a plug-in with many more character sheets. [dhoward]: If you look at the More Sheets! section there, it will tell you how to get more sheets. Nobody really uses the Magus-style sheet. [bzbub]: how do i use it? [bzbub]: k [bzbub]: i already dounloaded the file [dhoward]: Basicually, you would copy Magus-sheet (using the right-click menu) and paste it into the Workbench Folder. Then you would edit it with your own info. [bzbub]: i thought i installed it [dhoward]: If you installed it, you should have a "Sheets" Add-On in the lower left corner of your window. [dhoward]: Actually, it is called "Sheet". [dhoward]: Got it? [bzbub]: ya [bzbub]: when my computer is loading , everything else freezes [bzbub]: so if i dont say anything for a while im probably loading and cant [ Cratus joined the game ] [dhoward]: Yes, depending on your processing power, freezes are common. Java is a good language but rather slow and bulky. [bzbub]: what sheet did you use? [dhoward]: AD&D Sheet #1, I think. [dhoward]: Cratus, hi! [Cratus]: hi [dhoward]: Are you interested in playing D&D today? [bzbub]: are we using new charicters? [Cratus]: i think i'll watch this week, then take part next week. if that's okay [dhoward]: We won't be making new characters here. If you already have a character, you can use that. Otherwise, I can supply a pre-made character. [bzbub]: what level [dhoward]: 1-3 level preferably, most of the others are 1st level. [dhoward]: But, if you have a high level character, I can probably accommodate him, somehow. [dhoward]: I'm not sure who will show up this week. I know that one guy's PC is in the shop. Another guy is on vacation. So, we'll have to see. [dhoward]: If nobody else shows up, do you either of you guys want to play? Otherwise, I'll have to cancel. [Cratus]: i'll play if no one else shows up, i guess [dhoward]: Great. I've got a short adventure planned and it can accomodate any number of people. We can finish it in 3 hours. [Cratus]: cool [dhoward]: bzbub? [Cratus]: i will need a character, though [dhoward]: How about a dwarven fighter? [Cratus]: i'd prefer something else, but i'll play the dwarven fighter if that's all you've got [dhoward]: What would you prefer? [Cratus]: i really like bards [dhoward]: Hmm. I don't really have any bards around. How about an elven cleric/thief? [dhoward]: Glim Sliven. How does he look? [ BZbub left the game ] [Cratus]: you mean his appearance, right? [dhoward]: No, does he look fun to play? [dhoward]: I think that bzbub crashed. It happens. [Cratus]: yeah, he looks good. [dhoward]: Do you want to see if bzbub comes back or do you want to start the adventure now? If other people show up, I can accomodate them. [ BZ-bub joined the game ] [bzbub]: hi, im back [dhoward]: Hey, BZ-bub, since we haven't seen anyone else, why don't you join the game? [bzbub]: everything froze, had to exit and restart it all [Cratus]: i'll be back in a second.. [bzbub]: k [bzbub]: let me enter in a charicter [dhoward]: How about playing a dwarven fighter instead? We don't have time to really make characters now. [dhoward]: You can make a character during the week and use him next time. You can even give him the gold pieces and experience points that you get this time. [Cratus]: that'd be good if i could do that. [bzbub]: oh... are you talkin to me? [dhoward]: Yes. [bzbub]: ya that'd fine [dhoward]: Ok, so remove that extra sheet for now and we'll get going. [bzbub]: should cratus be the dwarf [dhoward]: Cratus wanted to be the elf. [bzbub]: one more thing , soory about this but i have to leave with my wife in about 30 min. [bzbub]: if you want me to play for 30 min, id love to be the dwarf [dhoward]: Ok, although it isn't really worth coming if you can't stay the full 3 hours. D&D doesn't lend itself to such short times. [dhoward]: Ok, everybody ready? [bzbub]: gacha, next time ill plan for it [Cratus]: yup [dhoward]: Glim and Ragenir have been staying at the Beach Inn in the small fishing town of Searoyal Villiage, 2 1/2 days west of... [dhoward]: Fallwell's Keep. During your stay, another patron, an old man, tells tales near the fire about a dark cave... [dhoward]: rumored to have a pool of pure gold at the bottom. The old man claims to have found it but, when pressed, will [dhoward]: not say why he never ventured there himself. [dhoward]: The old man asks, "I am travelling north, along the King's Highway. If you will protect me along the way, I will... [dhoward]: show you where the entrance to the cave is. Do we have a deal?" [bzbub]: sure [Cratus]: yeah [dhoward]: You leave the next day. You get up early and Glim, Ragenir and the old man head north. Birds are singing and it... [dhoward]: is a bright morning. To the left (as you travel north) are the Goblin Mountains, about a half a league away. To the right... [dhoward]: are farmlands. About midday, the old man's finger points straight at the mountains and says, "There, there you will find the entrance." [bzbub]: is there a trail? [dhoward]: There isn't a trail but it isn't rough country. The old man nods, "Beneath that peak. Just follow that peak." [bzbub]: ready, glim? [Cratus]: yeah, lets go [dhoward]: The old man starts to continue north, along the road. [dhoward]: "Thank you, good sirs," he calls back to you, "and good luck!" [bzbub]: you to [bzbub]: too [dhoward]: In half an hour, you cover the distance between the road and the mountains. The mountains are mostly rock faces, except for a patch of greenery off to the left. [Cratus]: i go to investigate it [bzbub]: what are doin? [bzbub]: we want the cave, glim [bzbub]: (humorously) [dhoward]: Glim walks down to the left to investigate the greenery. It is actually vines. Behind the vines is a dark, quiet little area, possibly a cave. [bzbub]: [bzbub]: did you find anything? [Cratus]: looks like cave, maybe [bzbub]: oh [Cratus]: like a cave bzbub follows glim [dhoward]: Ragenir brings up the rear and looks at the vines from behind Glim. [bzbub]: is there a cave? [dhoward]: The vines look rather tangled and dense. You'll have to hack your way through. bzbub throws a rock at posible entrance [bzbub]: let's cut through Glim [dhoward]: The rock hits the vines and bounces back a bit. There is definitely something back there. You even hear a little noise. [bzbub]: ooooo, maybe you found sonthin after all [dhoward]: Cratus, roll a d6. DICE for Cratus: (1d6) : 1d6=4 = [ 4 ] DICE for dhoward: (1d6) : 1d6=4 = [ 4 ] [Cratus]: i thought it looked suspicious [bzbub]: good call [dhoward]: From above you, a couple of rocks fall down and you hear somebody above you (on the rock face) say something. [bzbub]: pull out shield(if i have one) [bzbub]: WHO'S THERE [dhoward]: Yes. [dhoward]: You back away from the vines and look up. About 30 feet up, on the rock face, is a very small humanoid. He looks surprised. bzbub backs up to where i can see them Cratus does as well [bzbub]: hello [dhoward]: It is only one humanoid, a small, ugly thing with grey skin. It picks up some rocks and starts throwing them and yelling. [bzbub]: who are you? [Cratus]: why are you throwing rocks at us? [bzbub]: do i understand his wirds [bzbub]: words [dhoward]: It yells back, in the Goblin tongue, "Creatures!" [bzbub]: Goblin! [dhoward]: It starts to yell (to somebody behind it that you can't see), "Quick! Get the bows!" [Cratus]: crap [bzbub]: how fast could i get up to him [dhoward]: It would be hard to get up to him. It is almost straight up. [bzbub]: is there a way to go around? [bzbub]: a TRAIL TO ONE OF THE SIDES MAYBE [dhoward]: Nothing is immediately apparent. It would take a while to figure something out. [Cratus]: i have some climbing spikes, and a 150' rope. could he use those? [Cratus]: climbing spikes and hammer, that is [dhoward]: Yes, although it would take a while to get up there. Another few goblins appear and they are stringing their bows. [bzbub]: ill attach with my sling [bzbub]: how many [dhoward]: Ragenir readies his sling. [dhoward]: There are about 3. [dhoward]: There are 3. [Cratus]: i do the same [bzbub]: no sweat [dhoward]: Roll d6. Cratus gets behind Ragenir (dhoward whispered to Cratus): Right but you do have a Cure Light Wounds spell. [Cratus]: i use cure light wounds on myself [dhoward]: Glim crawls behind Ragenir. [bzbub]: "i hope they come down HERE to pley next time" [bzbub]: look back at the "cave" [dhoward]: Glim is bleeding a little bit but you bandage his wounds. [bzbub]: oh ya [dhoward]: You move back to the vines. [Cratus]: thanks, Ragenir [bzbub]: yup [dhoward]: You are pretty sure that you can hack your way through with the battle axe. [bzbub]: i do ot fats too [bzbub]: i do it fast too [dhoward]: You hack at the vines and they fall away. There is a rather large (15 feet around) tunnel that slants down at a 45 degree angle. Looks slippery and a bit dangerous. [dhoward]: It is also very dark in there. [bzbub]: we both have infravision right? [bzbub]: lets tie down the rope and use tit to help use get down safe [Cratus]: good idea [dhoward]: Yes, you both can use infravision although regular light would make it a bit easier to see and fight. [bzbub]: im not too good with the whole coordination thing [bzbub]: nets go [bzbub]: lets go [bzbub]: (sorry i type like a retard) [dhoward]: There really isn't anything to tie it to. Do you want to pound in a spike and tie it to that? [Cratus]: yeah [dhoward]: You pound in a spike (as quietly as possible). It goes in fairly easily in a creavse on the floor. You tie the rope to it. Descend? [bzbub]: question, next to our names on the list to the left, there is a number. what does that mean [bzbub]: yes [Cratus]: its our ping [bzbub]: wha? [dhoward]: It is the elapsed time. I've never found a use for it but the ms means milliseconds. [dhoward]: Who will go first? [bzbub]: me? [Cratus]: i'll go first. can i detect traps while i descend? [bzbub]: good [bzbub]: [dhoward]: Yes, you can detect traps. Roll d100. [bzbub]: u go DICE for Cratus: (1d100) : 1d100=64 = [ 64 ] [dhoward]: You look on the floor and around for stabbing traps as you go. You don't find any, though. [bzbub]: i'll wait for a sec before i follow, make sure no goblin come up top [Cratus]: okay [dhoward]: Glim goes first and Ragenir follows and you descend into the dark, using the rope to steady yourself. You descend about 40 feet. [bzbub]: or close behind [dhoward]: At the forty foot mark, Glim calls back to Ragenir, "It drops off a little bit here." [bzbub]: i foloow [bzbub]: ( i can stay for 20 more min, sorry) [dhoward]: You look out and the tunnel opens up into a very large cave. It is about 100 feet across and you are near the ceiling... [dhoward]: There is a natural hole and some light comes through from the top of the cave. The far wall is about 100 feet away.... [bzbub]: how far down is the bottom? [dhoward]: Immediately ahead of you, the cave drops straight down for about 15 feet and then goes down at a 45 degree angle for another 30 feet... [bzbub]: keep following , carefully [dhoward]: Far way, at the distance bottom corner, you see that the real bottom of the cave is abotu 150 feet down. [dhoward]: You'll have to drop straight down for about 15' feet. Do it? [bzbub]: how safe does it look [dhoward]: It looks pretty safe but you'll need the rope for sure. [bzbub]: did we leave it behind? [dhoward]: No, the rope is here but you are getting to the end. [bzbub]: ok lets go [Cratus]: yeah, what the hell, lets go [dhoward]: You drop about 15 feet and brace yourself on the floor. In front of you, the rock goes down at 45 degree angle. Behind you, you notice a little tunnel. [bzbub]: ooo, can you hear anything , elf [dhoward]: Roll a d100. DICE for Cratus: (1d100) : 1d100=36 = [ 36 ] [dhoward]: bzbub? [bzbub]: gold maybe [bzbub]: GOOD [Cratus]: nice! [dhoward]: Suddenly, you hear a loud but ununstandable arguing. [bzbub]: maybe the old man wasn't full of crap after all [Cratus]: yeah [bzbub]: from below? [dhoward]: Yes, it is coming up the tunnel. It is very loud but indistinct. [bzbub]: go back! [bzbub]: fast , but quet [bzbub]: quiet [dhoward]: There is a goblin sounding voice and then a very weird hissing voice. [Cratus]: can we understand them at all? [bzbub]: backtrack and climb up the rope to the ledge [dhoward]: You quickly climb back up to the entrance of this small tunnel. The rope hanging down here from the tunnel above. [bzbub]: pull up rope behind us [bzbub]: this is a good place for an ambuse [dhoward]: You quickly climb up the rope (as quietly as possible) and pull it back up. [Cratus]: no wonder the old man said "good luck"... [bzbub]: crazy old .... [dhoward]: The voices are definitely coming from down below at the bottom of the cave. There is some splashing around but you can't actually see water or the people who are talking. [bzbub]: are they coming up the cave / [bzbub]: ? [dhoward]: The voices stop and everything is quiet for a minute. [bzbub]: wait [dhoward]: You wait for about 5 minutes. You don't hear anything. [dhoward]: Keep waiting? [bzbub]: elf, you should hang your head down and look down the small cave [Cratus]: okay [bzbub]: you're more coordinated [dhoward]: It is going to be very hard. If you tie the rope around his waist, it will work better. [bzbub]: ya, do that [Cratus]: lets do that [dhoward]: You tie the rope around Glim's waist and Ragenir lowers him down. Glim peeks into the top of the small tunnel, upside-down. [Cratus]: what do i see? (dhoward whispered to Cratus): You see an upside-down goblin trudging up the tunnel towards you. He doesn't see you, yet. [Cratus]: i tug on the rope to have Ragenir pull me up [bzbub]: pull imup [dhoward]: You wave back to Ragenir to pull you up and he does quickly. [bzbub]: whta you see? [dhoward]: You hear scraping below you but you can't see anything. [Cratus]: there was a goblin, but he didn't see me i don't think [bzbub]: was he comin this way [dhoward]: The scraping is very close by. At your voice, the scraping stops immediately. [bzbub]: freak! [bzbub]: not out loud [dhoward]: You see the end of something in the air in front of you. Some kind of pole. [bzbub]: they are going to try to come up here [bzbub]: they domt know we are here [dhoward]: No, it is just some pole in the middle of the air. The goblin is just holding it up there for some reason. [dhoward]: Suddenly, very loudly in the Goblin tongue, a voice says, "Anybody there!" [bzbub]: just suspended? [bzbub]: do we answere? [Cratus]: could we attack him? [dhoward]: The goblin pokes the pole into the air several more times. (Glim, you could swing down there and attack him.) The goblin is totally surprised, though. [Cratus]: can i grab my sling out and hit him with that? [dhoward]: You just want to hit him with it? The sling isn't handy but you can pick up a rock or something. [Cratus]: oh, okay. i'll get a rock [dhoward]: A sling bullet falls out of your backpack (as well as a bunch of other equipment). [Cratus]: we didn't know the gold was yours! an old man told us it was here for the taking [dhoward]: (Do you shout that at him?) [Cratus]: at the lizardman, yeah [dhoward]: The lizardman steps forward and cracks his whip again. "Then go!" it hisses loudly. "Flee with your lives!" [dhoward]: Ragenir looks a little scared but steadies himself. "What do you think?" [Cratus]: we came all this way... i don't want to go back with nothing [dhoward]: Ragenir says, "Good point. You can attack with your sling while I attack with my battle axe. How about that?" [Cratus]: sounds like a plan, lets do it [dhoward]: Roll d6. DICE for Cratus: (1d6) : 1d6=4 = [ 4 ] DICE for dhoward: (1d6) : 1d6=5 = [ 5 ] [dhoward]: The lizardman steps forward menacingly. "Flee or die!" [dhoward]: Ragenir lets out a battle cry and starts running around the pool to attack the lizardman. [dhoward]: You ready your sling and can attack, if you want. [Cratus]: yeah, i do (roll a d20?) [dhoward]: Yes, roll d20. DICE for Cratus: (1d20) : 1d20=8 = [ 8 ] [dhoward]: You launch a bullet at the lizardman. It goes wide and drops into the pool with a "plop." [dhoward]: The lizardman jumps forward quickly. Roll d6. DICE for Cratus: (1d6) : 1d6=3 = [ 3 ] DICE for dhoward: (1d4) : 1d4=2 = [ 2 ] DICE for dhoward: (1d6) : 1d6=2 = [ 2 ] [dhoward]: Ragenir keeps running and attacks. Roll d20 for Ragenir to hit. DICE for Cratus: (1d20) : 1d20=1 = [ 1 ] [dhoward]: Roll d20 to save. DICE for Cratus: (1d20) : 1d20=2 = [ 2 ] [Cratus]: (damn...) [dhoward]: Ragenir swings his axe and head breaks off, rendering it useless. [dhoward]: The lizardman uses his whip. DICE for dhoward: (1d20) : 1d20=5 = [ 5 ] [dhoward]: The whip cracks but misses Ragenir. [dhoward]: Roll d6. DICE for Cratus: (1d6) : 1d6=5 = [ 5 ] DICE for dhoward: (1d6) : 1d6=2 = [ 2 ] [dhoward]: Launch another bullet? Roll d20. DICE for Cratus: (1d20) : 1d20=20 = [ 20 ] [dhoward]: Roll d20 again. DICE for Cratus: (1d20) : 1d20=5 = [ 5 ] [dhoward]: Ok, double damage. Roll d4 (+1). DICE for Cratus: (1d4+1) : 1d4=3 = [ 4 ] [dhoward]: The bullet smashes into the lizardman's chest and he falls backward. [dhoward]: Ragenir pulls out his throwing hammer. [dhoward]: The lizardman struggles up and grabs his whip. It shouts angrily, "For this, you shall DIE!" [dhoward]: Roll d6. DICE for Cratus: (1d6) : 1d6=5 = [ 5 ] DICE for dhoward: (1d20) : 1d20=19 = [ 19 ] DICE for dhoward: (1d6) : 1d6=1 = [ 1 ] [dhoward]: Another bullet? [dhoward]: Roll d20. DICE for Cratus: (1d20) : 1d20=10 = [ 10 ] [dhoward]: The bullet goes wide and smashes into the cave wall. [dhoward]: Roll d20 for Ragenir. DICE for Cratus: (1d20) : 1d20=19 = [ 19 ] [dhoward]: Roll d4 (+1). DICE for Cratus: (1d4+1) : 1d4=3 = [ 4 ] [dhoward]: Ragenir jumps forward, leaps through the lizardman's defenses, and smashes it in the temple. The lizardman hisses and falls over. [dhoward]: Roll d6. DICE for Cratus: (1d6) : 1d6=6 = [ 6 ] DICE for dhoward: (1d6) : 1d6=6 = [ 6 ] [dhoward]: Roll d20 to attack. DICE for Cratus: (1d20) : 1d20=18 = [ 18 ] [dhoward]: Roll d4+1. DICE for Cratus: (1d4+1) : 1d4=2 = [ 3 ] [dhoward]: The bullet launches and flies straight and try, smashing the lizardman in the face. Its head caves in and its limbs briefly spasm until it is quiet. [dhoward]: Ragenir stabs it, in the gut, ensuring that it is dead. [dhoward]: Ragenir looks unhappily at his battle axe. "That was a good axe." [Cratus]: maybe you can buy a new, even better one with the lizardman's gold? [dhoward]: Ragenir perks up. "Yes, let's look for it." [dhoward]: Nearby, you notice the body of the goblin. It is waterlogged and dead. [dhoward]: You look around the main cave here and see a small tunnel at the other end of the cave. [Cratus]: lets head down there. (with me detecting traps) [dhoward]: Roll d100. DICE for Cratus: (1d100) : 1d100=82 = [ 82 ] [dhoward]: You look for traps around the tunnel entrance but don't find any. Proceed into the tunnel? [Cratus]: yes [dhoward]: The tunnel is short. At the end, it opens into a small cave. This cave has a small amount of construction. At a glance, it looks like a small oring operation. [dhoward]: There is a wooden shed here at the center. [Cratus]: Ragenir, look in the shed [dhoward]: Ragenir cautiously enters the shed. Then, he shouts, "Glim, come look at this!" [Cratus]: i rush into the shed [dhoward]: Inside the shed is a small open chest with raw unrefined gold. Beneath the shed is a strong vein of gold, inside the rock. [Cratus]: alright! [dhoward]: There are few other things in the chest. [Cratus]: i go look [dhoward]: There is a small vial. It has a tiny label which says, in Common, "Heal thyself." [Cratus]: i need some healing.. [dhoward]: There is also a small amount of regular gold coins. Around 100 gold pieces. [dhoward]: Ragenir says, "Well, why don't we keep it for an emergency." [Cratus]: well.... okay [Cratus]: i pick up the vial and the gold pieces [dhoward]: You pack up all the valuables that you find and you leave to return to the surface. [dhoward]: You haul the chest out of the cave and, carefully, conceal the cave behind the vines again. [dhoward]: You memorize the location and return to Searoyal Villiage triumphant. [dhoward]: Do you want to sell the rights to the mining operation? [Cratus]: yeah [dhoward]: You shop around and get offers from various people and evnetually sell it for 400 gold pieces. Deal? [Cratus]: yeah [dhoward]: Grand total: you end up with 500 gold pieces and 1 vial. [dhoward]: Calculating experience... [dhoward]: Each adventurer ends up with 350 experience points. [dhoward]: You split the gold pieces, 50-50: 250 gold pieces per adventurer. [dhoward]: (Since bzbub left early, Glim and Ragenir agree that Glim gets the potion. Ragenir will get the next one. Deal?) [Cratus]: yup [dhoward]: So, that, in a nutshell, is a pretty good little adventure that I crammed into less than 3 hours. How did you like it? [Cratus]: it was fun. really good [dhoward]: So, basically, each week, I try to collect as many people as I can. If somebody else wants to DM, I let them... [Cratus]: could you help me create a character for next week now? [dhoward]: but I'm always here and, if nobody else wants to, I'll DM. And I try to have the adventure done within the 3 hours. [dhoward]: I'll help you create a character now. [dhoward]: Do you want me to put a new character sheet there? [ Cratus left the game ] [ Cratus- joined the game ] [Cratus]: sorry, WebRPG crashed [dhoward]: Did you add x.p. to Glim already? [Cratus]: yeah [Cratus]: i didn't change any of Ragenir's stuff, though [dhoward]: Ok, so you want me to create a new character sheet for you? [Cratus]: yeah [dhoward]: So, you want some sort of bard. What race? [Cratus]: half-elf [dhoward]: What do you want his name to be? [Cratus]: um... Hiryuu [dhoward]: Any last name? [Cratus]: Gohld [dhoward]: If you double-click on the character, you'll see the whole character sheet. [dhoward]: Ok, so roll 4d6 for each ability score and subtract out the lowest 6-sided die. DICE for Cratus: (4d6) : 4d6=2,5,6,4 = [ 17 ] [Cratus]: so subtract 2? [dhoward]: Yes, so that is a 15. DICE for Cratus: (4d6) : 4d6=3,4,5,2 = [ 14 ] [dhoward]: Ok, strength is 15. Roll again for next ability. [dhoward]: Roll again. DICE for Cratus: (4d6) : 4d6=3,6,6,2 = [ 17 ] [dhoward]: Roll again. DICE for Cratus: (4d6) : 4d6=3,6,1,2 = [ 12 ] [dhoward]: Roll again. DICE for Cratus: (4d6) : 4d6=2,5,1,3 = [ 11 ] [dhoward]: Roll again. DICE for Cratus: (4d6) : 4d6=6,3,1,4 = [ 14 ] [dhoward]: Ok, actually, there are a bunch of different rules regarding bards. Do you want me to just use the one I've got here? [Cratus]: i'd rather use one that i have created [dhoward]: Oh, what are they? [Cratus]: sorry, i meant one that i create. i don't have any characters created at the moment [dhoward]: Well, here's what I came up with: Strength=12,Intelligence=12,Wisdom=14,Dexterity=15,Constitution=9,Charisma=16. [Cratus]: INT has to be 13 (i just checked in the rulebook) [dhoward]: Yes, I guess that it just depends on which rulebook (or even Dragon Magazine article) that we go by. [dhoward]: Let me know what the ability scores should be and I'll put those in. [Cratus]: DEX 12 - INT 13 - CHA 15 [Cratus]: there's also this: "Bards with a 16 or better in both Dexterity and Charisma gain a 10% bonus to their awarded experience points." [Cratus]: but that's both DEX and CHA [dhoward]: No, I'm asking what all your ability scores are. [Cratus]: there's just those three requirements [dhoward]: So, Strength=12,Intelligence=13,Wisdom=14,Dexterity=12,Constitution=9,Charisma=15? [Cratus]: yup, that's good [dhoward]: Ok, I'll put it into the sheet. [dhoward]: So, roll for the number of hit points. [Cratus]: 1d6, right? DICE for Cratus: (1d6) : 1d6=4 = [ 4 ] [dhoward]: I'm not sure. According to my rules, bards start out as fighters so they get d10. [Cratus]: okay, then, i'll roll a d10 DICE for Cratus: (1d10) : 1d10=1 = [ 1 ] [Cratus]: oh, man... [dhoward]: That would be uncool. Let's just say 7, ok? [Cratus]: ok [dhoward]: So, your basic character sheet is done. You still have to roll for money, buy equipment and do all that. [Cratus]: can i access the character sheet offline? [dhoward]: Here's what you do... [dhoward]: To save your character sheet, right click on it and select Save. Then choose a file and save it to hard disk. [dhoward]: To work on it, you can do it online or offline... [dhoward]: I've never done it offline so I can only tell you about online... [Cratus]: okay. do i give the file an extension? [dhoward]: You don't need to. It defaults to .RPG. [Cratus]: ok [Cratus]: there, done. [dhoward]: To work on it online, you run WebRPG and then HOST your own room instead of joining a game... [dhoward]: Give it a name and a password so people don't bother you... [Cratus]: yeah, okay. [dhoward]: Then right click on Workbench and load the file from your hard disk... [dhoward]: Then make changes. Press the Save button in the dialog. Then, before leaving, right click on it and select "Save" to save it to hard disk. [dhoward]: Be careful and save your work often. WebRPG doesn't give warnings and tends to reset things often. [dhoward]: It is weird but, once you get the hang of it, it works okay. [dhoward]: To edit, just double click and bring up the whole character sheet. [Cratus]: got it. [dhoward]: Any other questions? [Cratus]: no [Cratus]: i'll try to finish all the other parts of creating my character by next week [dhoward]: That would be great. [dhoward]: So, I'm going to take off now unless there is anything else. [Cratus]: nope. thanks, and see you next week [dhoward]: ok, when I exit, the game room will close. if you want to keep working on your character, you'll have to host your own room and load it from your disk . ok? [Cratus]: sure [Cratus]: bye [dhoward]: ok, bye.
